“Three Things” meme

via agirllost.

THREE WAYS I AM STILL A CHILD:
1. I don’t have any discipline with my bedtime or candy consumption
2. I still like to sleep with stuffed animals on my bed
3. I like avoiding “adult” responsibilities

THREE WAYS I AM ALREADY OLD:
1. I do a lot of reminiscing and say things like, “Wow! Was that already four years ago? I feel old.”
2. I don’t do any crazy partying
3. I get excited over things like books and puzzles.

THREE THINGS I WANT TO DO:
1. Travel
2. Do something awesome that will get me famous for 15 minutes, like write a book
3. Have a family.  That’s way down the road though, not anytime soon.

THREE WAYS THAT I’M A STEREOTYPICAL “BOY”:
1. I love loud rock music and curse a lot.
2. I get bored with conversations related styling hair and hate doing my own hair.
3. I love getting dirty and messy outside.

THREE WAYS THAT I’M A STEREOTYPICAL “GIRL”:
1. I love shopping and fashion.
2. I try to hide it but I’m actually an emotional person.
3. I love makeup.

THREE NEW THINGS YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS:
1. Learn to play drums.
2. Accomplish some things off my “life” to-do list like travel, etc.
3. I’m keeping the third one a secret.

THREE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF:
1. I’m somewhat intelligent.
2. I have a good sense of humor.
3. I’m pretty happy with my appearance.

THREE THINGS YOU DISLIKE ABOUT YOURSELF:
1. I’m too hard on myself
2. I’m shy
3. My little quirks

THREE PARTS OF YOUR HERITAGE:
1. Italian
2. French
3. I guess American? Idk

THREE THINGS THAT SCARE YOU:
1. Death
2. The unknown
3. Driving/parking (but I do it anyway)

THREE OF YOUR EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS:
1. The internet
2. Music
3. Orbit cinnamon gum

THREE PHYSICAL THINGS ABOUT THE OPPOSITE SEX (OR SAME) THAT APPEAL TO YOU:
1. Smile
2. Build (I like somewhat athletic guys)
3. Hair (like my crush on Jimmy Fallon in high school was probably 75% attributed to his awesome hair. Once his hair went to hell, my crush died).

THREE THINGS YOU JUST CAN’T DO:
1. Go with the flow
2. Not procrastinate
3. Sing or draw. I am terrible at both.

THREE CAREERS YOU ARE CONSIDERING:*
1. writer
2. actor/musician
3. stylist

*I guess these are “dream careers” since I already have one.

Three Things: The “Random Effing Day” Edition

Here is my day of randomness so far. I caution you, I’m on my second can of caffeine alert today, so I apologize for any excitement.

1.  I had to go and conduct my biennial physical for work.  This place is located near the university, and it’s the same place where I’d gotten so abysmally lost two years ago (crazy how time flies, eh?).  The tests were the same - I took probably the fifth or sixth drug test in two years (I keep getting called in for “random” drug tests.  I took two or three “random” drug tests last year and I’m really questioning how “random” they really are.  I will stop using quotations marks now).  Same pulmonary function tests where you breathe until your lungs hurt and you’re not even sure you have breath left.  Apparently I have excellent hearing and above-average pulmonary function, so go me.  My eyesight is a different story. I’d wanted the appointment to take longer so I could read my magazines while I waited, but sadly everything was fast and efficient.

I avoid parking garages like the plague now, but luckily there was parking at the facility. Now, in order to get out, I had to go through this narrow street.  A car was parked to the right and the building was to my left. There was very little clearance and I had to get out and check several times to make sure I wasn’t going to scrape the car (bad experiences have taught me that caution is key.)  So after several times of parking and getting out of the car, another car was coming up behind me and I thought, OHHH NOOO I NEED TO DO THIS. TAKE YOUR TIME JENNY. YOU CAN DO THIS.  I had just enough clearance to where I was feeling fairly confident about getting by.

This is the point in the story where I would usually say, “And then I heard a giant scraping noise,” but no, I DID IT.  NO CARS WERE HARMED IN THE PROCESS. SUCCESS.

2.  Today I was waiting for an elevator and a woman was standing there waiting with me.  She said hello to be pleasant, and I was immediately struck by how familiar she looked, even though I’d never met her.  Then I realized - the woman looks like Natasha Richardson’s long-lost identical twin (I originally wrote “dead ringer” but then decided that wasn’t appropriate).  Seriously!  She looked so much like her that I tried not to stare.  It was creepy.

3. I saved the craziest for last. You know how on the news, there’s the story of the crazy man who wanted to get back at the IRS and drove his plane into a building? I TOTALLY DROVE BY IT.  The highway was backed up and I was just about to curse the traffic in this City when I saw the burnt-out building.  Some flames were still going on inside it (this was around 11:45 or so) but it had mostly been put out.  There were people taking pictures, and I was like, “Man, why are they taking pics?  It’s just a fire.”  What I didn’t know is a fucking crazy man flew his plane into the building.  Thankfully, I don’t think there are any fatalities yet besides the pilot (which is not a loss).  My aunt told me on FB that  my uncle used to work in that very building…thank goodness he doesn’t anymore.

It’s been a very random day.  Now I need to go back to work.
